Second Cycle Recycling (SCR), a subsidiary of Kleangas Energy Technologies Inc., Tampa, Florida, has signed a lease to open a new production facility in Kokomo, Indiana.
Kleangas, which acquired SCR in May 2014, says the 15,000-square-foot facility is five-times larger than the current SCR location. The increase in size will allow SCR to acquire additional equipment to expand its line of animal bedding and cat litter products, as well as start up several other SCR product lines.
Lori Wills, president of SCR, says, “This facility will be producing products for the pet industry (animal bedding and kitty litter), made from paper and cardboard. It will also produce pellets for the hydro-seeding industry and material for the industrial absorbent market. The production line will have a maximum output of 26,000 tons of material per year. As demand for our products grow, this location gives us the ability to expand our production capabilities with the installation of additional production lines.”
Kleangas manufactures and sells wood pellets as an alternative to coal and has a waste heat-to-electricity patented technology.
