National electronics recycling network launches

Impact Recyclers brings together electronics recycling organizations that strive to make a social impact.

Impact Recyclers, a Los Angeles-based national network of social enterprise electronics recyclers, has launched with operations in California, Colorado, Indiana, Georgia, Minnesota and New York.

What sets Impact Recyclers apart, according to the organization, is its emphasis on the “triple bottom line” by “providing high-quality and environmentally friendly e-waste recycling services while creating jobs for people on the autism spectrum, formerly incarcerated or with physical disabilities.”

The organization says it seeks to bring together like-minded IT asset and electronics recyclers.

“These businesses were already offering exceptional services and value to their clients,” says Mike Daniels, co-founder of Impact Recyclers. “By establishing this consolidated network, we can now provide businesses with the best solution to securely handle their IT and electronic waste needs across the country.”

He continues, “The network model provides clients a centralized point of contact, improved efficiency and a significant social impact to help customers meet and exceed their Corporate Social Responsibility goals.”

Impact Recyclers says that its network of companies recycled 25 million pounds of electronics in 2014. The organization adds that all of its members are licensed, bonded, insured and meet R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) and/or e-Stewards certification requirements.

Services include:

  • comprehensive IT and e-waste recycling capabilities, including secure data destruction, collection, sorting, deconstruction, end-of-life processing, refurbishing and resale
  • full-service processing of IT and electronics, including computers, servers, hard drives, TVs, copiers, printers, test and measurement equipment, telecommunication equipment, tablets, mobile and smartphones, tablets, etc.
