Wisconsin scrap recycler will put SC model to work at Fond du Lac location.


The Sadoff Iron and Metal division of Sadoff & Rudoy Industries LLP has placed an order for a new shear made by Harris, Peachtree City, Ga.

Wisconsin-based Sadoff will install the new SC model shear at its Fond du Lac, Wis., location. The SC model shear is billed by Harris as “a state-of-the-art design that provides high-level performance and reduced energy consumption.”

“We have five Harris shears with over 30 years of service,” remarks Mark Katz, vice president of operations for Sadoff. “We are eager to upgrade to new technology and increase production in our operation. Our comfort level with Harris’s support and knowledge of shears is the reason Sadoff decided to work with Harris on the new SC Shear.”

Sadoff recycles both ferrous and nonferrous scrap and operates shredding, shearing and baling operations in six locations in Wisconsin and one in Nebraska.

According to a Harris news release, the SC shear utilizes new Harris EHD (efficient hydro-dynamic) hydraulic technology. The patent-pending technology has been designed to increase energy-efficiency and maximize uptime, according to Harris.

Harris designs, manufactures and supports scrap processing, recycling and waste handling equipment with a product range that includes two-ram, horizontal and vertical balers for recovered paper, cardboard, nonferrous metals and plastics, and shears, balers and shredders for ferrous metal.
