Conference on Electronics Recycling Heading to San Francisco

IERCE 2010 scheduled for May 26-27 at Hyatt Regency Hotel San Francisco Airport.
The International Electronics Recycling Conference & Expo (IERCE) will be held May 26-27 in San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency Hotel San Francisco Airport, according to the event’s organizers. The first version of the event was held in October of 2009 in Los Angeles.
IERCE bills itself as “a premier networking and learning event for professionals, businesses, non-profit groups and others involved in the emerging field of electronic waste management.”
The two-day conference will include educational sessions, an awards luncheon, a golf tournament at the Half Moon Bay Golf course and a plant tour of an electronics recycling facility.
The event will also include an exposition hall open to electronics recyclers, equipment providers consultants and other industry service providers and organizations.
“IERCE provides a learning colloquium and substantial networking opportunities where participants can gain more insight into the dynamics of this vastly emerging industry,” says Ismail Oyekan, program director of IERCE.
According to the news release announcing the 2010 event, last year’s event was attended by people from 17 nations representing more than 350 businesses.
This year, IERCE is inviting electronics manufacturers, electronics recyclers, information technology managers, and others “who will directly benefit from understanding how to minimize the environmental impacts from electronic waste and the economics of electronic waste management,” says Sharmaine Robinson, Business Development Director at IERCE.
