Beverage Startup Using 100 Percent Recycled Plastic in Bottles

3/5/2010

Echo Bottles to use post-consumer recycled plastic to bottle first product.

Echo Beverages, a newly formed startup firm located in Los Angeles, has announced that it will be using 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic for the bottles containing its first product, Echo Water. Additionally, the company will use only local water sources and sells locally to reduce the environmental impact of shipping water. Echo also urges its customers not to rely on bottled water as a sole source of clean water, but rather as a convenience to be used on the go.

In addition to using 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, the company uses 100 percent recycled paperboard for its cases. The company says it also is seeking new ways to further reduce the environmental impact of its packaging.
