Following a 10-month recruitment process the California Resource Recovery Association’s (CRRA) board of directors has named John Dane its new executive director. Dane brings more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit and association operations and management, including five years as the executive director of the California State Firefighters’ Association and another five years as the executive director of the United States Rowing Association, an Olympic team and membership organization.

As executive director, Dane will oversee the oldest and one of the largest non-profit recycling organizations in the United States.

“I am excited about working with the CRRA Board of Directors and CRRA members to build our association, to work with our sponsors and partners and to sharpen CRRA’s role in identifying effective recycling and resource recovery strategies in California and nationwide,” says Dane.
