Recycling Today Staff February 9, 2011

Earth911, Scottsdale, Ariz., has announced that Atlanta-based Call2Recycle, a battery and cell phone collection program, and the Alexandria, Va.-based Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), a trade association representing the North American glass container industry, have joined Earth911 platform.

This platform, launched by Earth911 in late 2010, allows sponsors to have their own custom sections on relevant landing pages across Earth911.com as well as regular communications with Earth911 readers through relevant stories and news.
Call2Recycle will sponsor the Earth911 rechargeable batteries section, while GPI will sponsor the glass section of the site.
Earth911 says it gathers, distributes and analyzes localized recycling information to assist manufacturers, organizations and consumers with product end-of-use solutions. Through its recycling directory, Earth911's network of local experts contributes recycling information for products. Earth911 says that the directory contains more than 127,000 programs and locations that support more than 740,000 recycling resources combined.
