WIH Resource Group, a Phoenix-based provider of diversified waste and recycling and transportation/logistics consulting solutions has added three team members: Don Swierenga, senior advisor, mergers and acquisitions (M&A)/strategic planning; Tom Kraemer, P.E., senior advisor, landfill gas and biogas engineer; and Ken Fancolly, senior advisor, M&A asset valuations.
Swierenga is a senior level executive veteran having joined then Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) in 1981. In 1996, he was recruited to join Allied Waste (now Republic Services) with $170 million in annual revenues. Swierenga helped drive the growth of Allied Waste to $5.5 billion in revenues over 10 years with a focus primarily on integration of significant acquisitions.
Swierenga has been relied on by governmental entities and private sector clients throughout North America as a senior level executive overseeing many of the largest waste collection operations, transfer stations, material recovery facilities (MRFs) and landfills.
WIH says Swierenga is a visionary in strategic business planning, acquisitions, operations, sales and all facets of the waste and recycling industry.
Kraemer is a landfill gas and biogas engineer with extensive experience throughout North America. He is a registered civil engineer and has worked in the solid waste management field for over 30 years. He previously was with CH2M HILL since 1986, leading the firm’s landfill gas management practice.
Over the past decade, Kraemer has increasingly focused on organic waste management and biogas-to-energy, designing and building anaerobic digestion and biogas-to-energy facilities and analyzing alternatives for optimal processing of organic wastes.
Fancolly is a USPAP certified and accredited appraiser and is also a certified personal property appraiser (CPPA).
His experience includes appraisals and inventories of waste and recycling equipment, construction equipment and a wide range of industrial and business equipment. He provides detailed appraisal and valuation reports that follow USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
Fancolly conducts various appraisal methods including fair market valuations (FMVs), liquidation valuations and replacement/historical costs. He is knowledgeable about the ramifications of Sarbanes Oxley and GASB 34 as they relate to a company’s asset ledger and valuation reporting requirements, according to WIH.
"Don, Tom and Ken’s varied industry knowledge and experiences will create significant value for our clients and our WIH team," says Bob Wallace, WIH Resource Group president. “We are very excited to have them join as Senior Advisors in their respective areas of expertise. Don, Tom and Ken each bring WIH Resource Group a strong combination of business acumen within the waste management, recycling, transportation industry sectors and the M&A space."
