Wendt Corp., Buffalo, New York, and Proman Infrastructure Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, India, have announced a partnership agreement that will make Wendt’s shredding and separation technologies available in India.

Wendt Corp. is a leading manufacturer and systems integrator of automobile shredding and nonferrous sorting equipment in North America. Proman Infrastructure Services specializes in heavy industrial equipment solutions with a focus on aggregate crushing, screening and grinding. Proman will develop a separate sales team to support this new application and partnership, according to a news release from Wendt Corp.

The relationship leverages the two companies’ complementary expertise, Wendt Corp. says. Proman, which employs more than 150 people, will contribute local manufacturing infrastructure, an extensive sales network, postsale service and support and expertise in India’s industrial market. Wendt Corp. will supply a comprehensive portfolio of shredding and nonferrous sorting products and solutions along with 40 years of scrap metal recycling market expertise.

New government regulations in India mandating that a greater number of end-of-life vehicles are recycled recently has led to increased interest in Wendt’s equipment, the company says.

“The partnership with Proman represents an opportunity for us to significantly expand our presence in India,” says Tom Wendt, president of Wendt Corp.

“Proman’s leadership position in India along with their local resources and large-scale manufacturing capabilities will help us fully deliver our latest equipment and technology to the Indian market,” he continues. “Their specialized sales, manufacturing, project management and engineering capacity in conjunction with their commitment to aftersales service is complementary to our business structure here in the U.S. We’re excited about the relationship and look forward to bring our industry-leading solutions to India through Proman.”

Final discussions about a partnership took place in recent weeks with Proman Managing Director R.S. Raghavan visiting Wendt Corp.’s headquarters and technology center in Buffalo.

“The visit allowed Raghavan to see our facilities and manufacturing capacity, meet with our sales and engineering team and learn more about our latest developments,” Wendt says. “The meeting helped solidify the details of our partnership and the next steps in moving forward,” Wendt said.

Wendt Corp. says company representatives will travel to India in the next few weeks to visit Proman’s facility and to establish initial contact with potential customers in the Indian market.
