Waste Management Inc., the environmental services firm based in Houston, has acquired the commercial, residential and industrial waste collection assets of Illini Disposal, a waste hauler located in Springfield, Illinois. The deal was completed Dec. 1, 2016.
Lisa Disbrow, a spokeswoman for Waste Management, says customers will not see any change in service with the acquisition other than the company changing its name from Illini Disposal to Waste Management.
Illini Disposal had 17 employees, the majority of whom have joined Waste Management. Prior to the acquisition, Waste Management had a presence in the Springfield area with a hauling company.
