The German metals recycling company TSR Recycling has announced plans to acquire Interseroh NRW GmbH from Interseroh Scrap & Metals Holding GmbH. Germany’s Federal Cartel Office will have to approve the sale before it is official.

Edwin Leijnse, TSR Recycling's CEO, says that with the continuing weak economic development and the resulting non full-use of existing units, a bundling of processing capacities is a commercial necessity. “We believe that by taking over Interseroh NRW, we shall be able to sustainably strengthen the position of TSR in North Rhine-Westphalia,” Leijnse says.

Interseroh NRW is based in Dortmund, Germany. The sale of Interseroh NRW includes company sites in Dortmund, Mülheim a.d. Ruhr, Münster and Werdohl with a total of 98 employees.

TSR has 150 branches and 2,400 employees in Europe. The company says that it trades more than 8 million metric tons of scrap metal per year.
