Sims Recycling Solutions Canada has been honored with a gold distinction at the Recycling Council of Ontario's 2009 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards held late last month. The award recognizes Sims Recycling Solutions leadership in the field of environmentally sound electronics recycling.

"RCO is pleased to be able to recognize Sims Recycling Solutions for the role they play in recycling Ontario’s Electronic Waste’," says Jo-Anne St. Godard, RCO’s executive director. "The gold distinction recognizes them for their ability to recover all of the valuable materials found in the electronic products they collect minimizing waste throughout their operations."

"We are honored to receive this award, recognizing our contribution as gold medal electronic recyclers contributing to waste minimization efforts in Ontario,” said Cindy Coutts, president of SRS Canada. “This award serves as further proof of the industry leading electronics recycling we have been focusing on in Canada for many decades. Over the last 5 years alone, Sims Recycling Solutions has recycled 80 million pounds of electronic scrap in Ontario to some of the highest global standards, providing greenhouse gas emissions savings equivalent to removing 20,000 cars from the road for a year”.
