The magnetic separation system company Eriez Magnetics has installed a magnetic separation system for the removal of nonferrous materials at SITA UK's new wood recycling plants in Preston, Ashington and Perth.
SITA UK says it is the only major recycling and resource management company to offer a U.K.-wide collection service for waste wood. The wood processing facilities produce a high-quality fuel that needs to be free of debris such as nails, hinges and aluminum plates. To meet the requirement, Eriez Magnetics offered an eddy current separator system that includes an Eriez OBM vibratory feeder in line with a two-meter wide RevX-E eccentric eddy current separator (ECS) unit together with a modular magnetic drum to remove ferrous metals prior to the ECS.
The equipment was fully commissioned by Eriez Magnetics’ recycling and service team after installation by SITA UK. In a release, Adie Mason, wood sector manager for SITA UK, says, “We supply a high-grade, waste wood fuel so it is essential that our product is free from contaminants. Our requirement was very specific, and so were our deadlines, as the equipment delivery had to coincide with the overall installation of the production sites. The equipment was delivered to deadline and we have been impressed with the high standard of after-sales support.”
