Sims Recycling Solutions, with Americas headquarters in West Chicago, Ill., a global leader in electronics reuse and recycling, is teaming up with California’s San Jose Sharks and SAP Center at San Jose to encourage the community and Sharks hockey fans to recycle their old electronics.
The event is Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at SAP Center at San Jose in the main parking lot (Lot ABC).
Everyone who drops off a recyclable item will be able to watch the team’s pregame morning skate and will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win exclusive autographed Shark’s merchandise and memorabilia.
This e-waste collection event will be set up in drive-through and drop-off style, Sims says. Staff will be on hand to collect items from community members’ vehicles. Individuals who plan to recycle a monitor or television are asked to print and complete the collection log found at the us.simsrecycling.com/sharks website for faster processing.
Sims Recycling Solutions will accept computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, PDAs, cell phones, telephones, televisions, radios, stereos, speakers, MP3 players, CD and DVD players and VCRs. Sims says it is unable to accept batteries, smoke detectors and large appliances.
In North America, Sims Recycling Solutions operates 14 sites in Arizona, British Columbia, California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Ontario, Quebec, Tennessee and Texas.
