The steel company Severstal North America (SNA), Dearborn, Mich., has announced changes to its senor leadership team.
The company, a subsidiary of Russia-based Severstal, continues to restructure its U.S. management staff. The most recent changes include the appointment of Gerrit Reepmeyer to the position of vice president of procurement. The position previously was held by Saikat Dey, Severstal CEO. Reepmeyer joined SNA in April 2013 as director of energy and utilities.
“Gerrit’s education, experience and achievements at SNA and on previous assignments position him well to drive the strategic decision-making processes needed to propel the procurement function to the next level,” says Dey.
The company also promoted Mikhail Zhavoronkov to the position of vice president, corporate planning, pricing and logistics. Most recently, Zhavoronkov worked as Severstal’s director, financial planning and analysis and information technology.
SNA also appointed Dennis Johnson (DJ) vice president, quality, advanced engineering and continuous improvement. He succeeds Christopher Kristock, who is retiring after more than 29 years with Severstal.
“I am pleased to welcome DJ to join our senior leadership team, as he assumes the challenges of driving our quality assurance and product development processes to the next level of excellence,” Dey says.
He adds, “I am confident that we have a very strong leadership team in place, ready to take on the challenges of today’s marketplace.
