Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI, www.steeldynamics.com), a steel manufacturer and scrap processor based in Fort Wayne, Ind., has announced that it has appointed James Trethewey and Traci Dolan to its board of directors.
Trethewey’s appointment fills a vacancy created at the end of last year with the passing of former lead director Joseph Ruffolo. The appointment of Dolan fills a vacancy created by the health-related resignation of Richard Freeland. Both appointments are for the balance of a one- year term. The appointments bring the total number of directors back to 11 people.
Trethewey has been in the iron ore and coal mining industry for 40 years, including 35 years with Cliffs Natural Resources. Dolan is currently chief administrative officer and corporate secretary of ExactTarget Inc., a publicly owned global cross-channel interactive marketing software-as-a-service company.
SDI operates steel mills, scrap yards through its OmniSource subsidiary, and other facilities that help generate $8 million in annual sales. The company has an annual steelmaking capability of 6.4 million tons and employs approximately 6,500 people at its steel mills, scrap yards and other facilities for iron production, steel finishing, coating and fabrication.
