Rumpke Acquires Southern Ohio Hauler

Acquisition of Pike Sanitation Inc. provides Rumpke with 13,000 additional customers.

Cincinnati-based Rumpke Consolidated Cos. Inc. has purchased hauling and collection assets from Pike Sanitation Inc., Waverly, Ohio. The purchase includes about 13,000 customers in seven counties in southern Ohio.

In a news release, Rumpke says both organizations are family-owned companies that “have worked to ensure a seamless transition for customers.”

Says Amanda Pratt, director of communications at Rumpke, “Rumpke very much looks forward to getting to know its new customers and to offering them the best service possible.”

With the agreement, Rumpke expects to add more than 40 new employees. “Rumpke is eager to welcome new team members,” says Pratt. “They have excellent experience, knowledge and skills and we are grateful to have them on board.”

Rumpke, founded in 1932, is one of the nation’s largest regional residential and commercial waste and recycling firms with more than 2,500 employees providing service to customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.
