1. Steinert Australia UniSort PR
New from RTT Steinert of Victoria, Australia, is the UniSort PR sorting system with hyper spectral imaging (HSI) technology. The system offers the following features, according to Steinert:

  • Separates packaging, substitute fuels or plastics from electronic scrap using a range of detection and separation technologies to automatically sort waste
  • Allows recycling facilities to increase throughput and purity of recovered materials
  • Can sort large items such as whole soft drink bottles

2. BRT Automatic Bale Dewiring Machine BRT
Recycling Technologie GmbH, Ibbenbüren, Germany, has developed the Bal-O-Mat automatic bale dewiring machine offering the following features:

  • Provides a cost-effective automated bale dewiring solution for medium-sized recyclers
  • Front-loader places bales onto feeding belt in cutting position and bales reach the station automatically
  • Wires are cut, removed, dropped and bundled
  • Can help prevent health hazards and save costs associated with manual bale cutting

Terex Fuchs, Bad Schönborn, Germany, is offering the newly developed Power Pack for users of electric material handlers. The company describes the following product features:

  • Stand-alone engine allows Terex Fuchs electric material handlers to be operated independently of any external electricity supply
  • Features an integrated diesel-powered hydraulic unit

Oxford Instruments, Abingdon, United Kingdom, has launched the X MET7000 eXpress as a faster handheld XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analyzer for high performance measurement. According to the company, the product offers the following features:

  • Delivers accurate analysis, lower limits of detection, improved precision and faster analysis time
  • Analyzes, verifies and screens materials up to four times faster than the X-MET7000 QuickSort with one pull of the trigger
