1. Doosan material handlers. Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment America of West Fargo, North Dakota, has introduced three new machines designed specifically for material sorting and handling applications. The first model being launched is the DX225MH-3 material handler, which offers these features, Doosan says:

  • factory-fitted cab risers for increased visibility
  • improved machine guarding for maximum uptime
  • dual-boom cylinders and undermount arm cylinder placement contribute to lifting capabilities
  • four available power modes help operators balance fuel consumption and machine power to working conditions

2. Moley alligator shears. Moley Magnetics Inc., Buffalo, New York, has introduced Moley alligator shears, which it describes as mobile, adjustable and powerful shears designed to prepare oversized scrap materials for shredding. The alligator shears offer the following features, according to the company:

  • adjustable blade distance and set screw to support the blade
  • a constant power piston pump designed to optimize all work stages and minimize the power of the electric motor
  • the electric motor and pump are located outside of the tank for reduced oil heating and easier maintenance
  • cylinders with brake and chrome-plated and tempered rods

3. Nihot single drum separators. Portland, Oregon-based Bulk Handling Systems and Amsterdam-based Nihot Recycling Technology have added i-Series single drum separators (SDS), providing these features, the companies say:

  • self-contained, plug-and-play units available in two sizes, the SDS 650-i and SDS 800-i
  • improvements over previous models that include enhanced separation results and straightforward adjustability
  • a self-supporting frame and inline design enables the SDS unit to fit in a single shipping container
  • a longer expansion chamber and blow-nozzle for more consistent separation and adjustability

4. Stanley LaBounty mobile shears. Mobile shear manufacturer Stanley LaBounty, based in Two Harbors, Minnesota, has unveiled the new MSD800 mobile shear, offering these features:

  • a 15-inch opening to fit and process most any lighter ferrous and nonferrous materials, including pipe, cable, concrete pillars or I-beams
  • a heavy-duty, 360-degree rotation group that allows the shear to be placed on a heavier duty carrier
  • heavy-duty fabricated tubes designed to reduce stick deflection and buckling of the shear stick
