The nonprofit collective group ASEKOL is hosting the fourth annual international Take-Back Conference 2013, a waste management event in Central and Eastern Europe, on April 16, 2013, in Prague, Czech Republic. ASEKOL comprises representatives from leading suppliers of consumer electronics and office, telecommunication and computer equipment. The group also organizes a nationwide take-back system for WEEE (waste electrical & electronic equipment) on behalf of the producers and importers of EEE.
The Take-Back Conference will deal with technical topics from the waste management area as well as wider economic and environmental aspects connected to collection and recycling of discarded products.
The morning block will include discussions on burning issues in current waste management, information on collection and recycling fulfillment and quotas defined by the European Union, and the implementation of the European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Other topics to be presented include the recycling of rare earth metals, the debated re-use duty, i.e. re-use of discarded products, and news on the WEEELABEX quality standards.
The conference is expected to feature contributions from Czech and foreign personalities from the legal, economic, processing, state administration and foreign policy areas.
