Pacific Steel & Recycling, a recycling firm headquartered in Great Falls, Montana, has sold its Branch 47 auto parts division to an independent auto recycling company that presently operates a single location in Idaho. Branch 47 has one location in Twin Falls, Idaho.

One source says the company purchased the location from Thorpe Salvage in 2010 with the expectation that it would be able to grow the division, provide a consistent feedstock for its shredding and crushing operation and boost its revenue. However, the auto parts business did not turn out to not be a significant revenue generator as was initially expected, the source adds.

The company that purchased Branch 47 has been in business for more than 40 years and has a sizable presence in the Western half of the United States.
