Oscar Winski Metals Recycling, a full-service metals recycling firm headquartered in Lafayette, Indiana, has expanded its operations to include a new location in Hebron, Indiana. Porter County Iron & Metal will handle ferrous and nonferrous metals from throughout the Midwest.
David Bluestein, Oscar Winski vice president of metals recycling, says the company is thrilled to add this facility and believes the plant’s proximity to area steel mills will allow for growth. “Porter County gives us the opportunity to enhance our service capabilities and provide even more value to our customer base in northwest Indiana,” says Bluestein.
Oscar Winski has been processing various types of scrap metal for more than 100 years. The company says it recycles more than 400 million pounds of metal per year.
In addition to processing ferrous and nonferrous scrap, Oscar Winski Co. operates a steel and aluminum sales division in Lafayette. The company also provides electronics recycling services. Oscar Winski is Responsible Recycling Practices for Electronics Recyclers (R2) certified, claiming it is the first Indiana-based firm to receive the R2 certification.
