Metso has announced that Nine Dragons Paper Industries, headquartered in China, has started up two Metso-supplied containerboard machines at its mill in Jiangsu Province, China. Nine Dragons is a subsidiary of Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Ltd. The machines started up in January 2011.

Established in 1995, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Ltd. says that it is the largest packaging paperboard producer in Asia and one of the largest in the world in terms of production capacity. The company produces linerboard, corrugating medium and coated duplex board.

In related news, Metso also announced that it will supply installation and commissioning services to Amcor Packaging (Australia) Pty Ltd as part of the company’s new machine project for a containerboard line at its mill in Sydney.

The order includes the installation of the containerboard machine equipment for the line and supervision services related to commissioning, testing and start-up as well as training services. The installation and services package will complement Metso’s extended scope of supply to Amcor and strengthen the project implementation.

When operational, the mill will produce recycled paper from paper collected throughout the Sydney area.
