The Newark Group to Close Two Plants

Paper company says it is shuttering Ohio, New Jersey facilities.

The Newark Group, headquartered in New Jersey, has announced plans to close its recycled boxboard mill in Franklin, Ohio, and its Newark Graphicboard-BCI plant in Newark, N.J.

Philip Jones, president and CEO of The Newark Group, says, "It's no secret that market conditions have changed and we, like every organization, need to evolve to not only serve but lead the industry. This move allows us to do just that, as we focus on the specific products and services that our customers need today and into the future."

The Newark Group is an integrated global producer of 100 percent recycled paperboard and paperboard products with manufacturing and marketing operations in North America and Europe.
