The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., has added Chris Melenick as its nonferrous separation systems specialist. Prior to joining U.S. Shredder, Melenick served as general manager of a nonferrous separation contract processor, where his responsibility was to extract as much marketable metal from auto shredder residue (ASR) as possible and to maximize its market value.
“We’ve become a leader in nonferrous separation systems through a step-by-step approach with our customers to first show them what they have in their ASR and then a ROI exercise that validates their decision to purchase,” says Bill Tigner, U.S. Shredder president. “Many of our competitors use laboratory conditions to show the effectiveness of their equipment. What’s missing is the knowledge of proper separation before the material is presented to the eddy current or other sensor. This is where Melenick’s background is so valuable to our company.”
Melenick can be reached at chris@usshredder.com. He will operate out of an office in Winston-Salem, N.C.
