Tonganoxie, Kan.-based Magnatech has introduced a new line of auto shredders known as the Shark series. The shredders are available in four sizes to meet the needs of virtually any scrap processing operation, according to Magnatech.

Ranging from the smallest, the Magnatech Thresher shredder at 66 inches by 90 inches to the Magnatech Great White shredder, which measures 104 inches by 104 inches, the new shredder series is designed to offer customized capability along with reliability, Magnatech says. Intermediate sizes include the Magnatech Hammerhead shredder at 72 inches by 104 inches and the Magnatech Tiger shredder at 88 inches by 102 inches. All models are available with Magnatech’s LongRun Shredder Support Program (SSP), which is designed to help customers avoid unexpected downtime and keep their scrap yards running more profitably.

“While the names are fun, these new Magnatech shredders are serious machines designed to help scrap yards operate more profitably and more reliably,” says Michael Graveman, Magnatech president. “We’ve spoken with customers about what they want in their shredders, and we’ve put their comments into the construction and features found on the new Shark series.”

The Magnatech Shark series features hardened plate-steel rotors in either a disc or spider configuration, high-torque hydraulic feed roll and springless mounting systems.

The auto shredders also are available with Magnatech’s LongRun SSP, a preventative maintenance concept that incorporates scheduled inspections, performance analysis, enhanced parts availability and a rotor exchange program to help customers avoid breakdowns and keep their scrap yards running, according to Magnatech.

Also included is Magnatech’s Shredder911 Hotline and Rapid Response Team service, which provides on-site troubleshooting to diagnose and solve problems.
