University of Arkansas Recognizes JV Manufacturing President

Company also receives award for accumulating 1 million hours without work-related injury.

The University of Arkansas College of Engineering has presented Chris Weiser, owner and president of J.V. Manufacturing, with its Distinguished Alumni Award.

The award honors graduates of the University of Arkansas College of Engineering who have provided leadership in their communities and achieved distinction in their fields of endeavor.

Weiser, who received a mechanical engineering degree from the university in 1973, is the owner and president of the equipment company J.V. Manufacturing, Springdale, Ark. 

Under Weiser’s leadership, the company also recently received the Achievement level of the Arkansas Governor's Quality Award.

J.V. Manufacturing also announced that the Arkansas Department of Labor has recognized the company with its One Million Work Hours Safety Award. The company reports that 170 employees have accumulated 1 million man-hours without a lost day away from work resulting from a work-related injury or illness between January 2010 and March 2013. The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee comprising both employees and management.
