The software firm Salient CRGT Inc., Fairfax, Virginia, has been awarded a contract from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Inc. (ISRI ) to modernize an existing web application ISRI presently operates that tracks and recovers stolen materials.

Under the contract, Salient CRGT will provide application development, data hosting and IT modernization to support ISRI's recovery efforts.

ISRI’s current tracking application is a web application called, which has assisted with recovering around $2 million in stolen materials to date. The system is used by law enforcement personnel, victims of theft and recyclers. It enables law enforcement users to post alerts of stolen materials, and includes search capability, photo upload, success story updates and a protected, private portal for law enforcement to share confidential information.

For ScrapTheftAlert users, Salient CRGT will transfer the system to its hosting facility. Salient CRGT also will establish connections to law enforcement networks such as the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Data Exchange (N-DEx), and the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS).

The system will be connected to SalientCRGT's Voyager Query for Law Enforcement solution that will provide a portal for credentialed law enforcement users to inquire about data in other secure, restricted systems.

"Leveraging our years of law enforcement hosting experience, we will deliver a highly-scalable, tightly integrated, enhanced version of the application," says Brad Antle, CEO of Salient CRGT. "Our Mobility Innovation Center focuses on improving collaboration among offices and agencies, and creating efficiencies and assuring accuracy through application development. It is also of the utmost importance that law enforcement users can trust the security of their credentials, data and communications."

The award was through its wholly owned subsidiary, Salient Commercial Solutions, Inc.
