Executive Director of Indiana Recycling Coalition to Step Down

Carey Hamilton will leave position at the end of November.

Carey Hamilton, the executive director of the Indianapolis-based Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC) for the past five years, has announced plans to step down from that position at the end of November.

“During the past five years, Carey has grown and diversified our funding base, grown staffing and outreach and significantly enhanced our reputation as an effective voice for recycling at the statehouse and across Indiana,” says James Parker, IRC board president. “Most notably, Carey led our electronics recycling legislative push in 2009, which resulted in a significant increase in the safe recycling of electronics across the state, as well as a successful state budget funding request during the 2013 legislative session which resulted in the doubling of recycling economic development grants.”

Hamilton says, “It has been a great pleasure to lead this dynamic coalition, and I look forward to working with our board of directors to facilitate a smooth leadership transition over the next four months.”
