Highlight Networks to Acquire Chicago-Based Recycler

Company says it expects to close the deal for Acme Electronics Recycling by October 2013.

Highlight Networks Inc., Liverpool, N.Y., has announced plans to acquire Chicago-based Acme Electronics Recycling LLC. Highlight says it expects to complete the acquisition within the next 90 days and that the deal will give it access to electronic recycling facilities on both the West and East coasts. 
Acme’s recycling facility is in Galion, Ohio. It also has operations in Los Angeles and in Blue Island, Ill. The company is R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) and ISO 14001 certified, technologically advanced and highly mechanized, according to Highlight.
Danny Mendelson, an executive with Highlight, says, "This augments our current operations and industry relationships. Together, our companies will have enhanced resources to compete aggressively in the market. We look forward to closing the transaction and building on Acme's solid foundation."
Highlight Networks Inc. engages in recycling, metals trading and asset recovery, with a focus on precious metals refining from electronic scrap. The company currently operates one facility in New York that contracts nationally for refining and recycling projects and has recently expanded its business to include the repurposing, resale and recycling of networking and telecom hardware.
