The China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association’s Recycling Metal Branch (CMRA) has released the schedule for the spring event it is holding in Shanghai May 27-29.

The group says that after the event closes it is offering a tour to international delegates to visit scrap recycling and metals production facilities in the Zhejiang, China, area, from May 29 to June 1. The tour itinerary is being supported by the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), according to the CMRA.

Companies to be visited include those in the Taizhou Metal Reproduction Base (34 tenants), the Ningbo Recycling Resources Processing Park (73 tenants), Yuyao China Nonferrous Metals City plus Ningbo Shimao Copper Co. (a 230,000 tons per year copper producer).

“The objectives of the tour are further increasing the scale of international trade and investment in the recycling metals industry, and conducting an all-round, multi-level cooperation platform in trade and technology for Chinese and overseas recycling and nonferrous metals industry enterprises,” says the CMRA in a news release announcing the tour.

According to the CMRA’s Joanne Liu, the four-day tour will cost $1,500 per person and guests will stay at five-star hotels. Liu urges potential participants to book early, as space is limited.

The tour will be preceded by the Spring Conference in Shanghai, which begins with onsite registration on May 27. The program starts May 28 with topics including “Customs Policy and Procedure Interpretation,” 2013 Chinese Economy Analysis,” “How to Use Hedging” and “Recycling Metals Market Analysis and Price Trend Forecast in Second Half of 2013.”

Topics for Wednesday, May 29, include a focus on new products, end-of-life vehicle recycling and electronic scrap recycling.
