The 14th International Automobile Recycling Congress (IARC) has been scheduled for March 19-21, 2014, in Brussels. According to Switzerland-based event sponsor ICM AG, the IARC has been designed as a platform to exchange information, meet business partners and gain access to new clients.
According to ICM, the three-day program will include coverage of the following topics:
• how can automakers and the industry close the recycling loop?;
• best available recycling technologies;
• new automobile recycling technologies;
• best available recycling technologies;
• European ELV (end-of-life vehicle) directive toward 2015;
• e-mobility – Influence on car recycling and dismantling;
• rare earth recycling and what it means for the auto industry;
• sustainability benefits of automobile recycling;
• effects of durable raw materials low prices on ELV recycling;
• tire recycling;

An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
