Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has named Chris Ulum, CEO of the plastics recycling company Agilyx Corp.
, Beaverton, Ore., one of the winners of its Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 Pacific Northwest Award. Agilyx is involved in converting difficult-to-recycle scrap plastic into synthetic crude oil.
Ernst & Young says Ulum and the other entrepreneurs were selected by an independent judging panel made up of previous winners of the award, leading CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business leaders.
“It is an honor to receive this award alongside such a dynamic group of business innovators,” Ulum says.
“Commercializing technology is hard work and presents many challenges. However, providing sustainable energy solutions is something we are passionate about. I am proud of this achievement, but even more proud to acknowledge and credit our entire team for their extraordinary efforts in successfully taking the business to the next level.”
As a Pacific Northwest Region award winner, Ulum is eligible for consideration for the National Entrepreneur of The Year 2012 Award, which will be announced in November.
