Midwest Fiber Opens New Location

Company expands its footprint in Illinois with Springfield facility.

Midwest Fiber Inc., a paper and plastics recycling firm headquartered in Normal, Ill., has opened its newest facility in Springfield, Ill. The company now has four locations in Illinois.

Todd Shumaker, Midwest Fiber director of sales and procurement, says the new facility is presently servicing industrial accounts but expects to add balers and conveyors over the next 18 months to allow it to handle recyclables from the residential sector.

The new facility is nearly 25,000 square feet and  currently is used as a drop-off point for trucks collecting old corrugated containers (OCC), printers’ grades and other industrially generated grades of paper and plastic.

Shumaker says, “We have been looking for a building for many years, and this location suits our needs perfectly and provides us the opportunity to grow.”
