American Pulverizer Equipped for Rotor Rebuilds

Company adds to its CNC machining capacity.


Recycling equipment maker American Pulverizer Co., St. Louis, has added another CNC lathe to its in-house service and repair shop. In a January 2010 news release, the company says it has purchased three CNC lathes since mid-2008.

 

In conjunction with its other two CNC lathes, American Pulverizer says it will be using the new lathe to focus on emergency shredder rotor rebuilds. “Our shop is equipped with CNC boring mills for machining center discs, end discs and spiders,” says the company’s Chris Griesedieck.

 

Griesedieck says tear-down and reassembly of the rotors is performed in-house at American Pulverizer using high-capacity cranes. “The rotors are assembled to strict interference fit requirements,” he adds.
