Northshore introduces excavator for auto dismantling market

The 2100-SE combines the company’s excavator with its auto dismantling system.

nortshore excavator auto dismantlingNorthshore Manufacturing, a Two Harbors, Minnesota, manufacturer of the Builtrite line of products, has introduced what it claims is the most efficient method of dismantling automobiles. Northshore says through the combination of its stationary electric material handler/excavator and its auto dismantling system, called the Builtrite Model 2100-SE, the two pieces of equipment have been designed to recover nonferrous metals from end-of-life vehicles.

Key features, benefits and options of the 2100-SE, according to Northshore, include: 
 
  • capable of processing, on average, six to 10 vehicles per hour;
  • uses on average about 35 kilowatts per hour;
  • a high-efficiency, 75-horsepower Baldor industrial electric motor;
  • stationary electric machine creates no emissions and generates little noise and can be used indoors; and
  • cab is designed for operator comfort in mind, with seats and arm rests designed to reduce fatigue and increase productivity and large windows to provide improved visibility.
