GreenTeam, a subsidiary of Waste Connections Inc., has formed a strategic partnership with Integrys Energy Group Inc.’s Trillium compressed natural gas (CNG) business unit to help it build a new natural gas fueling station at its San Jose, Calif., facility. GreenTeam will use the fueling station to refuel its fleet of 18 trucks that run on CNG.

GreenTeam provides waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services at the San Jose facility. Apart from the fueling station, the facility will benefit from the station design, build, operation and maintenance that Trillium CNG brings to the market. It will also reap all benefits of the natural gas, according to the company.

GreenTeam says that it expects its investment in CNG infrastructure to convert the entire fleet to CNG will minimize the company’s carbon footprint and improve air quality.
