Atlas Copco Acquires Austrian Company

9/1/2010

Company says acquisition of Hartl Anlagenbau will allow it to enter the mobile crushing and screening market.

Atlas Copco Austria GmbH, Stockholm, Sweden, has announced that it has acquired Hartl Anlagenbau GmbH, Austria, a manufacturer and distributor of mobile crushers and screeners.

In a release announcing the acquisition, Atlas says that the acquisition will allow the company to enter the growing mobile crushing and screening market, strengthening Atlas Copco’s offering in the areas of quarrying and recycling.

“The acquisition increases Atlas Copco’s participation in the customer value chain and makes us a more complete partner to our customers in these segments,” says Björn Rosengren, Business Area president of Atlas Copco Construction & Mining Technique in a release.

Once the acquisition is complete, Hartl Anlagenbau will become a product company within the Atlas Copco Surface Drilling Equipment division.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
