Texarkana, Arkansas-based Tri-State Iron & Metal Co. (TSIMCO) has expanded its Pickers Self-Service Auto Parts business unit by acquiring auto salvage firm A-1 Auto Parts, which also is in Texarkana.
A news item posted to the Texarkana Gazette website in mid-January describes A-1 Auto Salvage as a used auto parts provider, and after the acquisition Tri-State’s Pickers subsidiary “will handle the customer base of A-1 Auto Salvage.”
The newspaper reports the deal was concluded in early January and quotes TSIMCO director of divisions Johnny Nonmacher as saying, “With this acquisition, we will be expanding capacity at Pickers Texarkana and TSIMCO for the additional volume of materials.” TSIMCO operates an auto shredding yard in Texarkana.
TSIMCO will continue to operate the four Pickers locations in Texarkana; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Longview and Reno, Texas. The Gazette says the A-1 property will be offered for sale.
