Avery Dennison
Avery Dennison, headquartered in Glendale, California, has launched a liner for paper facestocks that is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET),
The rPET liner is available on a Forest Stewardship Council-certified semigloss paper facestock, the company says, adding that it will continue to expand the portfolio of paper and film products available with this liner to include performance materials that will meet the needs of converters and brand owners.
The rPET liner, which won the Label Industry Global Awards 2019 Environmental and Sustainability Award at Labelexpo Europe, is included in Avery Dennison’s ClearIntent Portfolio, which includes more than 500 sustainable products, according to the company. The rPET liner portfolio will meet three of the portfolio’s sustainability standards in that it contains recycled content, can be recycled and is responsibly sourced.
“Avery Dennison’s rPET liner is an ideal solution for converters, brand owners and consumers seeking to reduce the carbon footprint via a true commitment to sustainability,” says Mike LeRoy, senior product manager, prime paper, Avery Dennison. “This solution is the first of several products that will be added to the ClearIntent Portfolio in 2020 as we continue to provide industry-leading sustainable label solutions that deliver the exceptional performance labeling professionals have come to expect from Avery Dennison.”
