Canadian equipment company grows its operations with acquisition of distribution company.
Premier Tech Ltd. has bought control of its French partner, MLB Distribution.
The company, based in Quebec, has acquired 60 percent of MLB, which has been doing business with Premier Tech's Erin System subsidiary since 2000.
MLB, which sells screeing, sizing and recycling equipment, had sales of more than $4 million last year. "This purchase acquisition has been done with a vision of continuity as well as to strengthen the distribution network of our business unit Erin Systems on the European continent," Premier Tech president Jean Belanger, said in a release.
Premier Tech operates various businesses in the packaging, environmental services, horticulture, biotechnology and composites sectors.
The investment stems from a distribution partnership between Erin Systems and MLB Distribution.
Located in Pau, France, MLB Distribution has been around for more than three years. The company specializes in the marketing and sale of screening, sizing and recycling equipment.
The technologies it distributes throughout France include the Starscreener and the Fingerscreener, both designed and manufactured by Erin Systems.
The Starscreener is designed to offer excellent screening production rates with high moisture content material such as compost, mulch, and bark.
The FIingerscreener is a sturdy and innovative screener specially designed to maintain its highly aggressive action under the heaviest and most challenging direct-feed materials such as C&D debris, contaminated soil, scrap metal and aggregates.
MLB Distribution also offers a complete line of Powercrusher, such as Jaw and Impact crushers. These unique crushers are designed to optimize feed sizes and output, in order to always obtain a finished product that meets requirements, even with high wearing materials like paving stone, rock and concrete.
"In short, this purchase acquisition has been done with a vision of continuity as well as to strengthen the distribution network of our business unit Erin Systems on the European continent", to conclude Jean Belanger. With this strategic investment, Premier Tech aims to increase its presence on the European market, improve the flexibility and distribution capability of its product line, and secure a solid base for pursuing its activities and serving its customers.
