All company’s facilities will now be open on Sundays.
Ben Weitsman & Son, Owego, N.Y., has announced that starting Nov. 6, 2011, all of its scrap recycling facilities will be open for customers Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Previously, only Weitsman’s Scranton, Pa., scrap yard was open Sundays.
“Sunday is one of our busiest days in Scranton,” says Adam Weitsman, president of Upstate Shredding and Ben Weitsman & Son. “Expanded weekend hours can accommodate all of Ben Weitsman & Son’s retail, commercial and industrial accounts. The additional hours are an added convenience for our customers,” he adds.
The locations that will be operational Sundays include Owego, Rochester, Binghamton, Jamestown and Syracuse, N.Y.
“Expanding operating hours help us increase scrap volume and further develop our footprint in these markets. We realize people are very busy, and we want to make doing business with our yards as convenient and rewarding for our customers as we possibly can,” Weitsman says.
In addition to eight scrap yards in New York and Pennsylvania, Upstate Shredding – Ben Weitsman & Son, with headquarters in Owego, N.Y., has shredding facilities in Owego and Rochester. These facilities will allow the company to process more than 800,000 tons of ferrous scrap and 150 million pounds of nonferrous scrap this year.
