Aluminum Association reaches 100 members

Association adds The Schaefer Group and Aluminum Shapes to its membership ranks.

The Aluminum Association, Arlington, Virginia, has announced that it has added two new members, bringing its membership total to 100 companies, a record number of members for the association. The new members are Schaefer Group Inc. and Aluminum Shapes LLC.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, the Schaefer Group has more than 80 years of experience providing furnaces and molten metal delivery systems to the aluminum industry.

Aluminum Shapes, based in Delair, New Jersey, is a fully integrated aluminum extruder providing a range of services for projects from start to finish.

“This is an exciting time for aluminum as the industry continues to see sustained expansion and transformative growth,” says Aluminum Association Chairman Layle Smith, president of Noranda Aluminum, Franklin, Tennessee. “Customers as diverse as automakers, high-tech firms and the U.S. military recognize the potential of using lightweight, durable aluminum to meet modern manufacturing challenges—a testament to the value aluminum enables.”
