Waste management firm Action Environmental Group Inc. officially opened its new single-stream recycling center in the Bronx during New York City’s GoGreen conference Sept. 26, 2013. The new facility will include an optical sorter that uses RedWave optic technology to automate the recycling process and extract recyclables from the solid waste.

"Leveraging world-class technology, the optical sorter allows Action Environmental Group to do what everyone wants to do, reduce waste to landfills, and does it even better," says Ron Bergamini, Action CEO. "Our facility is the only one of its kind in the region and arguably the country. The recycling center extracts higher quality recyclables out of the waste stream and allows customers to use one bin for recyclables.”

Action Environmental Services serves New York City and, through Interstate Waste Services, northern New Jersey as well as New York's Rockland and Orange counties.
